Light of Hope: The Redeemer

Light of Hope (LoH) is a 3D puzzle-platformer being developed solo by me (Gaskellgames), and is currently in early development.

Game Origins

Light of Hope (LoH) started out as a 2D concept minigame created in java using processing (IDE), before progressing to a 3D tech test created in C# using unity and rider (IDE).

Concept (2D Minigame)

The 2D concept was inspired by small-scoped flash games. The aim of the minigame is to collect G-Coins that are scattered throughout a spaceship, via basic environment platforming. The player tries to collect as many score bubbles as possible while avoiding dangerous robot enemies.

Tech Test

The LoH tech test was built from scratch over a six month time frame to test whether the 2D concept scales to a 3D environment, with advanced platforming being the focus of the test. All gameplay systems, 3D models, textures and 2D graphics were created specifically for the test.
